Course Overview
During this course, participants will learn about the evolution of level-funded health plans available to employers. We will begin by looking at the differences between fully-insured, traditional self-funded and level-funded plans, and then focus on providing a more thorough understanding of the financing and risk components of level-funded plans. In the second hour, the class will focus on the various issues that arise when employers and agents offer these plans to their employees and covered dependents. The course will conclude with an overview of the various areas of compliance and risk exposure that employers should understand before purchasing any level funded plan.

Upon completion of the course, the participant will know:
- The distinct differences between funding approaches and how to educate employers to make educated decisions about their options, providing adequate stop-loss protection and understanding the differences between self-funded and fully-insured.
- The various compliance obligations that employers face with level-funded, ranging from state stop-loss restrictions to COBRA, ACA Reporting and related concerns that may create unexpected liability for employer
- How to best work with service providers to manage both plans and financial obligations related to level-funded health plans
