William G. (Bill) Stuart is founding partner of Benegames, a company whose initial product, MaxHSA, gamifies Health Savings Account contributions. He began his benefits career more than three decades ago with Harvard Pilgrim Care, a regional health services company. He ran Harvard Pilgrim’s consumer-directed health efforts for a dozen years before joining a regional TPA as a senior leader. Bill writes extensively on Health Savings Accounts, including two weekly LinkedIn columns and several books on the topic. His expertise is in the areas of HSA compliance and the intersection of HSAs, Medicare, and retirement planning.
Bill served as president of the Massachusetts statewide NABIP chapter. He is a member of the American Bankers Association Health Savings Account Council and is former chair of its compliance committee. He is active in the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation, the leading CDH trade group, and formerly served on its board.
Bill is a graduate of Bowdoin College with an MBA from Duke University. He lives south of Boston with his wife, close to their four adult children and three grandchildren. He serves as a Scouting America volunteer, holds leadership positions in his church, and sits on his town’s Finance Committee.
