Chris Vanderwolk is director of compliance and innovation at OneDigital | Kistler Tiffany Benefits General Agency, where he helps brokers and employers navigate the regulatory complexity of employee benefits. An ERISA attorney with more than 19 years in the benefits industry, he specializes in translating what the law actually requires into language people can use.
Chris has been an active advocate at every level of the association. Nationally, he chairs the Legislative Council and has led drafting on three model bills through the Rx and Employer Working Groups, including the CREDIT and ELARA Acts. As chair of the Rx Working Group, he saw NABIP’s first model legislation enacted into law in Virginia.
In New Jersey, Chris is state president-elect, and has served as deputy legislative chair, HIAPAC chair, and on Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s Interdisciplinary Advisory Task Force. Chris regularly testifies on bills and meets with legislators and the DOBI Commissioner’s office. He served both his State and Central NJ chapter as president and through nearly every board office, and remains a fixture at State of the State and the Annual Convention, where he teaches CE and recruits vendor participation.
He earned his J.D. cum laude from Seton Hall Law and holds the CEBS, GBA, CFC, CMS, and GBDS designations. A U.S. Army veteran, Chris mentors through Service2School and represents veterans pro bono with Volunteer Lawyers for Justice.
His guiding principle is simple: “I help good people do the right thing.”
