Dawn McFarland is the founder and president of M & M Benefit Solutions Insurance Services. She is passionate about helping individuals—especially those becoming Medicare-eligible— make confident, informed decisions about their health coverage. While Medicare is her primary focus, Dawn stays closely engaged with developments in the large and small group, ACA, and Medicaid markets, recognizing that each plays an important role in shaping the healthcare system as a whole.
A dedicated advocate for consumers and the insurance professionals who serve them, Dawn is deeply committed to NABIP's mission. As a co-author of the NABIP Healthcare Bill of Rights, she is driven by a desire to advance meaningful, positive change in the U.S. healthcare system and ensure consumers have access to informed guidance and quality coverage.
As NABIP Region VIII regional vice president, Dawn is honored to represent the members of Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. She is committed to strengthening member engagement, cultivating future leaders, and advancing advocacy that empowers insurance professionals while protecting consumers' access to informed healthcare choices.
Dawn also volunteers as a community educator for the Alzheimer's Association and currently serves as the immediate past president of the California Agents and Health Insurance Professionals (CAHIP). Throughout her volunteer leadership, she has been recognized by NABIP with both the Distinguished Service Award and the prestigious State Legislative Achievement Award. In addition to countless committees and local and state chair positions, she previously served as the social media chair for NABIP media relations (and our Cap Con hashtag went viral), chair of the NABIP Leadership & Development Committee, and four years on NABIP's Medicare Advisory Council.
