Reviewing DOL COBRA Guidance / American Rescue Plan Update Round 2

One of the most pertinent provisions of the recently enacted American Rescue Plan involves COBRA subsidies. The legislation offers federal subsidies for COBRA premiums at 100 percent coverage from April 1 to September 30. Three weeks ago, the Department of Labor released guidance regarding the COBRA-subsidy provisions of ARPA, offering much-needed answers to some frequently asked questions that agents, brokers, employers and consumers have had over the last month. Compliance Corner Committee members Deanna Sizemore and Carol Taylor offered an in-depth overview of this guidance, some outstanding questions we still have, and an update on FFCRA regulation.
